1,600 gallon concrete tank is lowered into position. The tank will be insulated with a minimum R-20 of foam to prevent heat loss. Copper heat exchangers and supply connections are installed through manhole covers after the tank is set. Tank, controls and Econoburn installed by Bob's Heating and Plumbing.
Energy updates to the existing house in this renovation included air sealing and insulating the band joists and applying high density foam to the un-insulated foundation walls. Air sealing and blown-in cellulose in the attics, new kitchen, bath exhaust fans, a new hot water heater and a new HRV system completed the energy makeover.
