Nelson Remodel: Stairs and kitchen
This circular stair was built to replace an existing, poorly built stair. The stairs are hardwood maple and the floor is rustic hickory.
We love our work and it shows: the homeowners thanked us with this note: “Just want to say thanks for making our house look so good. It was great getting to know you guys. You are all a great group of people.”
Creating the curve in our shop required many clamps.
Plaster on the existing curved wall had to be tuned up to accommodate a minimal trim package.

The completed stair. Stair finish by the owners and floor finish by Woodwright.
The new kitchen.
We widened the doorway to the dining room, plastered the walls, and installed new maple cabinets. The floors are rustic, random-width hickory. Custom-built thresholds ease the transition of slightly different floor height between kitchen and dining room.
The countertops are by Tailored Stone in Stevens Point.
The island counter is maple butcher block fabricated by Feltz Lumber. The window over the sink was replaced with a Marvin slider window. Maple window & door trim was manufactured on site.
