At the owner's request, Gimme Shelter modified the 1955 Better Homes and Gardens "House of the Year" design into this 2,100 s/ft. home. The owner grew up across the street from a 1962 home built from the Better Homes design. Structurally, the roof is supported by a central ridge beam running the length of the house. Parallel chord trusses hung on this beam provide enough space for our level of ceiling insulation (R-60). The deeper beam profile is hidden by a wide, stepped fascia detail.

The dining room is open to the living room to the right, and a half main entrance to the split level.
