This 3,000 s/ft. home is sided with cedar bevel siding and has a walk-out basement, passive solar design, and a masonry heater. The four solar hydronic panels on the roof provide domestic hot water and supplemental heat for this 2-person household. The screen porch and deck were added in the years following initial construction in 1995.
The masonry heater is a beautiful room divider between the kitchen / dining and living room. The Envirotech module was intalled by Gimme Shelter and has a fireplace door on both sides with a bake oven on the kitchen side. It provides 95% of the heat for the home using about 2.5 cords of firewood. Brick veneer by Mark & Todd Check of Check Masonry.

Note the wood-fired sauna stove and tiled shower alcove to the left. The u-shaped alcove is the space created by the foundation carrying the masonry heater directly above. A fresh air inlet is located under the bench.
